Dilema... to cash out or not to cash out??

I don't know if you noticed, but the price of gold has gone through the roof! It's been fluctuating a bit recently, but it's well above $900 an ounce. So I've been thinking... I have this gold ring (white gold actually), and it's just sitting around. It's a bit of a waste. I have a couple of options. I could sell it for the gold. Which I could probably make a profit from. I've also been toying around with resizing it so I could where it on my other hand. So the dilemma is should I cash it in or hang on to it and see if the value goes up?? Maybe, I'll go to a jeweler and see what they can do with it to make it a cool... you know so it doesn't look like I'm wearing someone's old wedding ring. ;)
