Turning Thirty...

I have been reading great book that Mel bought me. It is called Turning Thirty by Mike Gayle. It is really a great read for anyone turning 30.

A little advice from Matt:

1) Don't take anything for granted because when it is gone it's always too late.
2) Look after your mates - And they will look after you.
3) The only thing in Life that gets easier the older you get is the ability to fall asleep in the middle of a conversation.
4) Never move back in with your parents - it's always a bad idea.
5) And, finally, don't go to the pub unless there is somewhere to sit down.

But basically it's just all good common sense.

So, I have taken another step towards my business tonight. I just regeistered the name the official business name. I also just registered my domain. blackbirdesolutions.com

So, now I just have to designs some websites. ;) I'm already hard at work with 3 sites 4 now including my own.

If you are wondering where the name comes from . Blackbird is what Coe means in Welsh.

More fun than you can shake Kielbasa at!!

So, Saturday I managed to catch up with Beek and James for our annual January B-day celebration. It was a lot of fun. First we wondering aimlessly through K of P for a few hours and I managed to buy...well nothing. Although, after having a Venti Chai Latte from Starbucks, I did get to have lots of trips to the toilet. :) Michele got into a great deal, she had a coupon for $30 off if you spend $75!! But she didn't need anything and only bought something because she had the coupon....is that saving money??

After the mall we decided to check one of the various restaurants in the area 'Bahama Breeze' . I've decided, you could put any restaurant and plop it down next to the K of P mall and it would be a gold mine. Bahama Breeze is cool though. If nothing else it certainly is a good spot to people watch. So, after we got picked up our little flashy pager thing from the pimply kid taking names, we positioned ourselves behind a group at the bar and hoped there pager would go off soon. So, we could atleast sit down and relax while we settled in for our 60-90 minute wait... First order of business, order some drinks! Upon receiving our first drinks what did we do? Well, spill a drink down the coat of one of the lesbians in the couple sitting in front of us. Nice! So, James nanchalantly wiped it off and they were never the wiser. Later we found out that they had been there for the last 6-7 hours. So, they probably didn't remember their own names, let alone someone spilling on them.
Eventually a few people did get up and we bellied up to the bar with our drinks. At this point we had a look around at all the the others at the bar. Across the way we had the old woman with the elvis hair and her daughter fashion sense to match. But, the best one was the guy next to james that kept ordering a mixed drink and a shooter. After about 3 of those his kid comes up and wants to talk to daddy! He was there with his family! The wife just came over to tell him they were heading to the car. He did manage to get up and stumble after them, but man I hope he wasn't the one driving!
We did eventually get a table and we ended up having a really sweet Polish waitress from some small town in Poland. That really had everything well rehearsed. I'll have to give it too James, anytime we wanted anything from the waitress, all he had to do was make some rude racial joke and there she was just in time to hear it... oops.
Anyway the night ended with all three of us mournfully remembering that we are all a year older...
